LILYLily is a very special baby, so special her entry into this world has inspired a song all about her. Upon listening to her song, your donations would be kindly appreciated, with all money going towards the continuation and development of Music Therapy at Monash Children's hospital.
In 2015 HAMMERCAN guitarist Jerry Trzeciak and his wife Robyn had their first baby. Little Lily was born 15 weeks early in July of 2015 and spent 171 days in hospital. Born at only 25 weeks gestation this micro preemie has been faced with challenge after challenge and procedure after procedure. However, in the face of adversity her strength of character and will to survive has been obvious. Lily has grown stronger, more healthy, more resilient and more happy every day. She was officially discharged three days before Christmas and is doing really well at home. The challenges she may face as a preemie in life do not go away just because she is home now. We wait with anticipation to see how Lily grows each day and develops into a beautiful and strong young woman. She is already so brave and courageous and of course she will have all the support she needs from the people who surround her. As you can imagine this time has been very challenging for the family but in particular Jerry and Robyn. They are grateful for all support received from family and friends. While in hospital the two were lucky enough to meet Elizabeth Mclean, a music therapist for sick children at the Monash Children's Hospital in Clayton. Now of course as a musician and music teacher Jerry understood the importance of music and always planned to engage Lily in a rich musical environment from before birth. But being born so early and in hospital made it very hard to give Lily the music experiences her family desired. Liz was kind enough to provide Jerry, Robyn and Lily with an mp3 player and an acoustic guitar for use during their stay. The mp3 player played soothing acoustic music mainly performed by Tommy Emmanuel, Eva Cassidy and Jerry himself. The acoustic guitar was a wonderful gift as it gave Jerry and Robyn the chance to pretend they were at home. The music being played and listened to was not only therapeutic for Lily but equally as important for Jerry and Robyn in what was regularly a very stressful environment. During this time Jerry wrote a song for Lily celebrating her arrival in the world. This song is a tribute to her journey so far and a very special little girl. HAMMERCAN have recored this song for their next album. As a huge thank you to Liz and the Music Therapy unit at the Monash Children's Hospital for their kindness and generosity this song is available for download after donation with all funds being raised going straight back into the Music Therapy department at the hospital. This money will pay for much needed updating of mp3 equipment and instruments. To donate and download the song click donate below. Thank you in advance for your support. Any amount is wonderful and every little bit counts.

There we were Just me and her Wishing that two become three I remember the day I heard her say The wish that was, would be 9 months inside The usual design But you turned up early instead Now waiting around We hate the sound Of machines that hang overhead Pre Chorus 25 weeks So little you say But born you were What a wonderful day You came along So brave so strong Chorus Lily, now you're here I love your face I love your name Verse 2 Visiting you It's what we do I cant wait to see you each day To hug and to hold One touch I was sold And now you can't keep me away Pre Chorus Chorus x 2 Bridge It doesn't take long For love to take hold A look, a touch, a moment So precious so small But together we're tall Hand in hand we'll do it Pre Chorus Chorus x 4 |
